Job Description 

The VP of Product & Project Management is directly responsible for the development and promotion of competitive, technology-focused products across all entities under Etana Holdings. This position is responsible for the corporate strategic direction for product development focused on revenue generation and regulatory compliance. The VP of Product & Project Management provides counsel to the C-Suite, senior management, and sales team to execute on product/application feature direction for Brokerage/Trust/Banking to meet the needs of our various entities and client base through world-class applications delivering exceptional UX. Other key responsibilities include creating and delivering corporate functionality roadmaps based on competitive analysis, with an outstanding depth of knowledge of various sectors within the finance industry. 

The VP of Product & Project Management is deeply involved in every aspect and stage of bringing a new product to market, leveraging their expertise to drive innovation and growth. This position also assists the CTO to plan necessary technology and infrastructure projects and expenditures by directly and indirectly managing all resources required to meet internal and external software development and business process needs. The VP of Product & Project Management will oversee product managers, project managers, and agile development sprint teams to provide key business requirements that inform and drive software development aligned with their vision. This position reports directly to the CTO. 

You Will 

Executive Management Functions: 

  • Participate in product/sales/exec meetings to lead product functionality roadmap discussions and assist executive team with building future strategic direction. 

  • Gather input from C-Suite, senior management, and sales team to execute an ideation process to define functionality and features for our platforms. 

  • Advise CTO on strategic planning, budget allocations based on future directions, and counsel as the application expert to drive strategic thinking to produce competitive products. 

  • Survey and report on marketplace competitive landscape, recommend vendor relationships to drive partnerships for application integration and overall guidance of current and future client needs. 

  • Participate as a key member of CTO’s team in building a new graphical user experience, developing vendor integrations, and design of an open service-oriented architecture platform. 

Product Development Department Functions: 

  • Direct, establish, maintain, and plan the overall policies and goals for the product development team. 

  • Develop and champion business plans and product requirements to drive the success of new products and product-based initiatives. 

  • Coordinate and schedule the entire product launch process. 

  • Develop functional prototypes to inform product requirements and design. 

  • Approve the ROI calculation for presentation to the executive committee. 

  • Represent sales and marketing interest during the product development cycle with the design team. 

  • Play a key role in tracking competitive moves, market feedback, and help determine appropriate positioning and features to sustain competitive advantage in target segments. 

  • Work closely with sales, marketing, customers, IT, and Operations to assure product issues are prioritized and resolved. 

  • Support the marketing strategy and preparation of promotional materials including presentations, brochures, advertising, and public relations campaigns. 

  • Provide product demonstration and expertise for sales and marketing needs. 

  • Provide product knowledge and enablement support to sales and service teams for new products. 

  • Supervise others through training, directing and measuring work, delegating, managing performance, interviewing, hiring, and resolving problems. 

  • Manage Agile process, sprint stories, backlog, release planning, and priority of work developers perform. 

Your Skills  

  • Must be able to design PowerPoint, Excel spreadsheets and Word documents at an expert level. 

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with executive management as well as technical and non-technical employees. 

  • Must be able to calculate ROI/IRR for a new product. 

  • Expected to have a well-defined ideation process, vision/scope/ functional gap skills, and business requirements framework. 

  • Must interface with various levels of people including clients, executives, legal counsel, and programmers. 

  • Must be able to recognize and determine ROI opportunities. 

  • Must be able to coordinate the efforts of a team, at times as a product visionary, project manager, and lead teams through product releases. 

  • Possess strong analytical skills involving complex information. 

  • Must have strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement problem solutions. 

  • Must be able to work with limited guidance and supervision. 

Your Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS or business is preferred with 20+ years’ experience in building products for broker dealers, Trust/Banking companies in the financial services industry. 

  • 10+ years in OMS/EMS/BAS, settlement, and post trade accounting systems. 

  • 10+ years in trading systems, market data, and trade execution. 

  • 10+ years in portfolio management and performance reporting. 

  • 10+ years dealing with FINRA/SEC/FDIC regulations for a trust company, broker dealer, bank, and/or executing broker. 

  • 10+ years of brokerage/banking accounting that includes sub accounting from omnibus accounts. 

  • 10 + years in transactional processing pertaining to deposits, withdrawals, trade settlement with exchanges/LPs, and bank/customer account reconciliation. 

  • 10+ years managing integrations with other custodians, client portfolio management systems, TAMPS, banking systems, etc. 

  • 10+ years tax state and federal reporting, cost basis/tax lot reporting. 

  • Cryptocurrency experience is a plus with experience in the above disciplines dealing with digital asset securities. 

  • Experience building product line in finance industry that netted over six-figure revenues.
